Siquijor Island Tour

Often called the island of fire and mystics, Siquijor is a compact, laid-back gem in the Central Visayas best explored on a full-day land tour by motorbike or van. The undisputed highlight is Cambugahay Falls, a multi-tiered cascade of turquoise pools where you can descend the steps, swim beneath the falls, and swing out over the water on a bamboo rope before plunging in.

The route also takes in the century-old Old Enchanted Balete Tree, where a spring at its base feeds a natural fish pond that gives ticklish free pedicures, and Salagdoong Beach, famous for its cliff-diving platforms and slide into clear aquamarine water. You will pass the historic Lazi Church and Convent and the San Isidro Labrador complex, among the oldest in the country, and stop at quiet Paliton Beach for swimming and sunset.

Threaded through it all is Siquijor's reputation for folk healing and white magic, a culture of mananambal healers and herbal potions that adds an air of mystery to an otherwise sun-soaked island of beaches, waterfalls, and old stone churches.
