Sinulog Festival Cebu — Grand Parade Immersion

Every third Sunday of January, Cebu City explodes into the Sinulog Festival, the grandest and most famous of the Philippines' fiestas, honouring the Santo Nino (the Holy Child Jesus). The festival celebrates the country's Christian roots, tracing back to 1521 when the image of the Santo Nino was gifted to the local queen at the time of Magellan's arrival. Its name comes from the sinulog, a forward-two-steps, back-one-step dance that mimics the current of a river.
