About this tour

For all its mystical reputation, Siquijor's most immediately compelling feature is its beaches and reefs. The island's coastline is ringed with shallow turquoise bays and offshore reef gardens that rival anywhere in the Philippines — and because Siquijor remains far less visited than Boracay or Palawan, you often have them entirely to yourself.

Freedom Beach is the island's open secret: a crescent of powdery white sand accessible only by bangka or a long walk through coconut groves. There are no resorts here, no beach vendors, and the only structures are a handful of simple nipa huts. The water is crystalline and the swimming is exceptional — warm, calm, and so clear you can see the sea floor at 4 metres without getting your face wet. It's the kind of beach that takes your breath away and then slowly, determinedly, refuses to let you leave.

The Coral Garden sits a short boat ride away — a designated snorkeling area where the reef has been protected from fishing and anchor damage for over a decade. The result is a thriving shallow reef at 1–4 metres depth with table corals, brain corals, and staghorn formations so dense they've created a genuine underwater garden landscape. Butterflyfish, anthias, and surgeon fish move through it in constant colourful procession. The tour finishes with time for photos at the Paliton Beach viewpoint before returning to Siquijor town. Book via Klook for a confirmed bangka and guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is Freedom Beach accessible without a boat?
It can be reached by a long walk through coconut groves from the main coastal road, but the bangka is significantly faster and more enjoyable. Most visitors arrive by boat.
Are the corals at the Coral Garden in good condition?
Yes — the Coral Garden is one of Siquijor's better-protected reef areas and coral health is good. Bleaching events in 2016 affected some sections, but recovery has been strong.
Is this suitable for beginners?
Absolutely — the snorkeling depth is 1–4 metres and the water is calm. Basic swimming ability is all that's required. Life vests are available on the boat.
