Siargao Kite Surfing Lesson
About this tour
Beyond its world-famous surf breaks, Siargao has a steady, reliable wind season that makes it a fantastic place to learn kitesurfing. This introductory lesson on the flat, shallow waters near Burgos on the island's northern tip pairs you with a qualified instructor who takes you from the very basics through your first powered rides on the board. You start on land learning how to set up and fly the kite, understanding the wind window and safety systems, before moving into the water for body-dragging and water relaunches.
The shallow, sandy-bottomed lagoons around northern Siargao are ideal for beginners, giving you a forgiving space to practise where you can usually stand up and reset. The trade winds, typically strongest from around November through March, provide the consistent breeze that makes progress fast and fun. Lessons run roughly three hours, enough to build real confidence with the kite and, for many learners, get your first taste of riding.
All the technical gear, kite, bar, harness, board and safety equipment, is provided, and the instructor stays close throughout, often with a support boat or radio helmet for coaching. Whether you have never touched a kite or want to refine your skills, the warm water, empty lagoons and friendly local schools make Siargao an unbeatable place to catch the wind.
