Panagbenga Flower Festival — Baguio City
About this tour
Held every February, Panagbenga, a Kankanaey word meaning season of blooming, is Baguio's beloved month-long flower festival, born as a tribute to the city's blossoms and a symbol of its recovery from the 1990 Luzon earthquake. This two-day tour times your visit to the festival's two grand highlights. The Grand Street Dancing Parade fills Session Road with dancers in flower-adorned and traditional Cordillera costumes, their movements inspired by the Ibaloi Bendian dance of celebration, drawing tens of thousands of spectators.
The second showstopper is the Grand Float Parade, a procession of enormous floats blanketed in fresh flowers that wind from Session Road to Burnham Park, where they are displayed for days afterward. Around the parades, the festival transforms the cool mountain city into a riot of color, with Session Road in Bloom turning the main avenue into a pedestrian flower market and food fair, plus fireworks, concerts and pony rides. With an overnight stay you can enjoy both flagship events at a relaxed pace while soaking up Baguio's crisp climate, pine-scented air and highland charm.
