Nusa Camp Palawan — Jungle to Sea
About this tour
Trade the tourist crowds of El Nido and Coron for the wild, jungle-fringed coast of Taytay, the old Spanish capital of Palawan that most travellers blow straight past. This two-day camp pairs nights under canvas with days spent paddling mangrove channels, snorkelling untouched reefs, and trekking through secondary rainforest down to hidden coves where the only footprints are your own. Taytay sits on a sheltered bay studded with limestone islets and the imposing 17th-century Fuerza de Santa Isabel fort, so you get history, jungle, and sea rolled into one slow, off-grid escape.
Days follow the tide rather than a clock. You will hike forest trails where hornbills and monitor lizards still roam, swim out to coral gardens that rarely see a boat, and end each afternoon back at a beach camp for grilled fresh catch and a fire under the stars. Because northern Palawan is one of the least developed coastlines in the country, this is a genuine back-to-nature trip rather than a polished resort day out, ideal for travellers who want adventure, solitude, and a real sense of place.

About the area
Taytay was the capital of Palawan during the Spanish era and still guards the coral-stone Fuerza de Santa Isabel fort overlooking the bay. Today it is a quiet fishing town wrapped in rainforest and ringed by limestone islets, sitting roughly midway between the famous lagoons of El Nido and the wrecks of Coron. Its undeveloped coastline, mangroves, and offshore reefs make it one of the last genuinely off-the-beaten-path corners of northern Palawan.
