Kawasan Falls Canyoneering — Full Adventure

Canyoneering down to Kawasan Falls is Cebu's most thrilling adventure, a half-day descent through a jade-blue gorge of jumps, slides and swims. Starting in the highlands of Alegria, you follow the Matutinao River downstream toward the famous turquoise tiers of Kawasan in Badian, scrambling over boulders, leaping from cliffs and floating through deep canyon pools the whole way.

The route serves up a series of cliff jumps ranging from gentle 3-metre drops to adrenaline-pumping leaps of around 30 feet, all of which can be skipped via alternate paths if you prefer. You will also slide down a natural rock chute, swim through narrow water-carved channels, and wade between towering limestone walls before emerging at the multi-tiered Kawasan Falls themselves.

The full adventure takes roughly three to four hours of active movement, with all safety gear, a helmet, life vest and an experienced guide provided. It is genuinely exhilarating yet accessible to reasonably fit beginners, and finishing beneath the powder-blue cascade of Kawasan is a reward you will not forget.
