About this tour

Most visitors to Hundred Islands see it from the deck of a motorised bangka, but the park's most magical spaces are only accessible by kayak. The narrow passages between the limestone outcrops, the hidden sea caves that open into flooded grottos, the seagrass lagoons where sea turtles feed undisturbed — these require human-powered craft and a willingness to get your paddle wet. This kayaking tour delivers all of it.

The route threads through the quieter western section of the park, away from the main tourist islands, where wildlife encounters are more frequent and the sense of exploration is genuine. Paddling through the arched entrance of Cathedral Cave — where the limestone walls soar 15 metres above your kayak and the ceiling is studded with small bats — is a highlight that no motorboat can provide. The passage opens on the far side to a sheltered cove with a small white beach that sees perhaps five visitors a day.

Seagrass meadows between the islands are productive feeding grounds for green sea turtles and the guide knows the most reliable spots. In the shallow clear water you can watch turtles grazing from your kayak at close range without disturbing them. The return paddle follows the outer edge of the park with a final stop at one of the quieter public beaches before heading back to the main pier for cold drinks and bangus freshly grilled at the park canteen.
