Bohol Panglao Island Hopping & Balicasag Diving
About this tour
Set off at dawn from Panglao for a morning on the water that combines wildlife, world-class reefs and a postcard sandbar. The boat heads first into open water for dolphin watching, where pods of spinner dolphins are often seen leaping and riding the bow wake, best from around March to June. The early start rewards you with calm seas and the day's best chance of sightings before the wind picks up.
The centrepiece is Balicasag Island, a marine sanctuary famous among divers and snorkellers for its dramatic coral wall, schooling jackfish and resident green sea turtles. Time on the reef is managed to protect it, so guided turtle and reef visits are limited per guest, but the encounters are unforgettable. From there the boat usually continues to Virgin Island, where a long white sandbar emerges at low tide, ringed by shallow turquoise water perfect for wading and photos.
Whether you snorkel from the surface or dive the wall, Balicasag offers some of the clearest water and richest marine life in the Visayas. The trip generally wraps up by early afternoon, leaving the rest of the day free to relax on Panglao's beaches.

About the area
Panglao Island, connected to mainland Bohol by bridge, is the province's beach hub, home to the powdery sands of Alona Beach and a thriving dive scene.
