Bohol Firefly Watching on the Loboc River at Night
About this tour
As darkness falls over the Loboc River, the mangrove trees along the banks begin to light up with thousands of synchronized fireflies. You board a silent dugout canoe — no motor, no lights — and your guide paddles you slowly downstream through a tunnel of trees where the fireflies pulse in perfect rhythm. The effect is like floating through a living Christmas tree forest.
This experience is largely unknown outside the Philippines and is far less visited than the Chocolate Hills or tarsiers. It runs from around 6:30–8:30 PM. Combine with a day at the Chocolate Hills and tarsiers for a perfect Bohol day.
