Bacolod Masskara Festival Immersion Tour

Every October, the city of Bacolod erupts into the MassKara Festival, one of the most colourful and joyful celebrations in the Philippines. Born in 1980 during a period of economic hardship and a tragic ferry disaster, the festival was created to remind Negrenses that theirs is the City of Smiles, its name a play on mass (crowd) and the Spanish cara (face), expressed through the iconic smiling masks worn by dancers. This two-day immersion tour drops you right into the heart of it.

You will catch the famous street-dance competition, where troupes in dazzling beaded and feathered smiling masks perform high-energy Latin-inspired choreography to thumping music, and soak up the electric atmosphere of the MassKara Electric Run, food fairs and night-long street parties. Beyond the parade, the tour weaves in Bacolod's local flavours, from chicken inasal grilled over coals to the city's legendary cakes and pastries, giving you a real taste of Negros Occidental.
