Panglao is connected to the Bohol mainland by a short bridge, which makes it simultaneously accessible and island-like. Alona Beach is the hub: a 1.5 km strip with dive shops, seafood restaurants, and a lively but manageable vibe (much quieter than Boracay). Balicasag Island is a 30-minute bangka ride — sea turtles, dramatic wall dives, and beautiful hard coral. Virgen Island has the whitest sand in the area. Island hopping costs P1,200–1,500 per boat. Book diving early — the best shops fill up.
