Masbate Island province in the Sibuyan Sea is the 'Rodeo Capital of the Philippines' -- the annual Masbate Rodeo (April) is the country's only authentic cowboy rodeo event. The province also has excellent diving at Buntod Reef Marine Sanctuary, thresher shark dives off Ticao Island and raw, undeveloped beaches. Fly from Manila or ferry from Pilar.
